Program Description

An integrated full immersion program that includes coursework, cultural / social activities and lodging. Programs of study are designed to fulfil the students college syllabus as well as the requirements for credit transfers.

In Castila, students become part of an international group whose common language will be Spanish. This is used and tested in different situations:

• With Spanish students, families and collaborators

• In class, with experienced teachers

• Outside the class, in carefully planned activities, organized according to the students interests and the communication goals stated and run by their teachers.

Objectives

To improve students’ Spanish communication skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) by combining class and homework with extracurricular activities. 

Admissions

• Registration: Available for groups (602) and  individuals (104).

• For individual registration, a positive reference from a teacher is required.

• You also can apply for registration through the Study Abroad Department program of your University.

• Level Prerequisite: from absolute beginners to very advanced.

• Credit Transfer available: Syllabus and grading are to be established according to the requirements of Universi-ties'  Study Abroad Offices.

• Full payment for the course will be required after receipt of your confirmation.

Program Summary

• 20 hours per week: Spanish Language and Culture

• Maximum of 6 participants per group.

• Available activities every week:

- 2 / 3 cultural activities, run by teachers or a guest : talks, films, concerts, exhibitions, theater, group conversations, visits to the market, the library, to monuments…

- 2 / 3 available leisure activities: sports (soccer, volleyball tennis...), walking tours of the city, workshops (ceramic, environment, cooking...), paella (in the countryside, at the school), salsa classes, flamenco classes, lake swimming, party at the school, bike tour,...

- 1 trip (Saturday) to the beach, to the Sierra Nevada, to Sevilla, Cordoba, Baeza, Ubeda, Ronda.. organized by school collaborators/staff.

• Optional housing organized by Castila in Spanish families, students residence or shared flats.

• Access to a pool and sports facilities.

• Access to study rooms and a library.

• Practice and increased competence in the students skills

• Grading test on arrival

• Certificate of Attendance upon a successful completion of the course

• Certificate of Level and Qualification (necessary for transfer of college credits)

*Students are expected to attend a minimum of 90% of the classes. Students with more than 10% of non justified absences will be banned from evaluation
