Trip to the Alpujarras |
![]() |
A visit to the rustic villages of the Alpujarras mountains: Bubion, Pampaneira, Capileira, the Alpujarras that Pedro Antonio de Alarcón never got to visit but Gerald Brenan and Virginia Woolf did; Trevélez, the highest village in Europe, also reputed for its cured ham; the tiny villages of Ferreirola and Atalbeitar; the wine festival of Cadiar, where wine actually flows from the village fountain and there is free beer and paella for everyone. Activity goal: To know this interesting and rustic part of the Sierra Nevada which has the highest villages and paths in Europe, (closest to the sky!); the area featured in South of Granada, the famous book by Gerald Brenan. Place: Various places and villages (Pampaneira, Capileira, Trevélez...) in the Alpujarras, within the National Park of Sierra Nevada. Duration: 1 day excursion (9:00- 20:00). |
